MLK Scholar spotlight: Takora McIntyre

Meet Takora, an MLK Scholar turned aspiring journalist

John Hancock started the MLK Scholars Program ten years ago to create opportunities for Boston students to grow as leaders. But, in addition to leadership skills, many of the program’s scholars come away with so much more. Like Takora, an MLK Scholar from 2015-2016.

During her time with the program, Takora worked for Boston Harbor Now as a social media manager, marketing their Waterfront Planning and Development initiatives.

Today, Takora plays on Temple University’s basketball team and is well on her way to a degree in journalism. Watch the video above to see how working as an MLK Scholar inspired her to discover and pursue her passion.
