Emmanuel’s commitment to nursing education continues to expand

For more than 40 years, Emmanuel College has developed compassionate, responsible nurses ready and willing to address the challenges of a rapidly changing health care environment. Through the college’s longstanding partnership with leading hospitals and healthcare organizations within its unmatched Longwood Medical and Academic Area (LMA) location, students gain clinical experience at the nation’s top hospitals and emerge as well-rounded, in-demand nursing professionals.

As a member of the LMA neighborhood, Emmanuel College is proud of its many students, faculty, and alumni working as nurses in renowned institutions such as Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Medical Center, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Spaulding Hospital Cambridge, and more. As the need for skilled nurses continues to grow, the college reaffirms its commitment to delivering a high-quality nursing education.

The college’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program welcomed its inaugural class of traditional undergraduate students in the fall of 2019, and opened its state-of-the-art nursing laboratory in spring 2021. In this unique learning space, which contains both a skills lab and two simulation labs, undergraduate students are exposed to high-fidelity, real-world experiences where a focus on making connections and student outcomes are the guiding principles.

Through Emmanuel’s Maureen Murphy Wilkens School of Nursing & Clinical Sciences, the college also offers an online RN-to-BSN, as well as a hybrid Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and graduate certificates, both with tracks in nursing education and nursing administration. The MSN program offers innovative course experiences where students interested in both specialty tracks learn together with a focus on research, quality and safety, and clinical expertise.

Accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Emmanuel’s nursing programs immerse students in the clinical practice of nursing as well as the behavioral sciences, with a curriculum rooted in the college’s Catholic educational mission — an emphasis on intellectual inquiry and integrity, a commitment to justice and peace, and a strong sense of community and service to others.
