Airport dining takes off: Boston Logan food options offer everything from family favorites to fine dining

Logan’s dining lineup turns preflight meals into part of the journey.

Dining at the airport didn’t used to be the type of experience you eagerly awaited. In past decades, it conjured images of utilitarian experiences that lacked variety. That couldn’t be a bigger contrast to the present day, when the airport dining evolution has brought everything from local brands to national favorites front and center. That growth is in full bloom at Boston Logan International Airport, where an endless variety of food options awaits every type of traveler.

“Boston Logan’s culinary scene is a true reflection of Boston and New England: diverse, dynamic, and proudly rooted in local flavor and beyond. From quick, budget-friendly bites to chef-driven concepts and worldly cuisines, our restaurants offer something for every traveler,” says Scott Moriyama, senior vice president of MarketPlace Development. “Whether you’re looking for a taste of the region or a national favorite, the variety and quality represented here make dining at Boston Logan an experience in itself.”

From an upscale experience that draws from Boston’s thriving culinary scene to a family-friendly option that has comfortable seating for children, Boston Logan has whatever you’re craving.

Featuring the best in Boston

Many travelers are excited to indulge in their national favorites when they head to Logan. Chick-fil-A in Terminal A continues to be one of the most popular stops in the airport, while Shake Shack in Terminal C is also a traveler favorite. This location features a bar with oversized TVs and has alcoholic milkshakes on the menu, in case you’re in the mood for a Salted Honey Bourbon Shake. Buffalo Wild Wings (Terminal A), Potbelly Sandwich Shop (Terminals B and C), and Jimmy John’s (Terminal A) are other popular fast-casual spots that travelers love hitting up before their flight.

Iconic Boston restaurants also have a strong presence at Logan. Legal Sea Foods is in every terminal, ensuring you can enjoy a lobster roll no matter your location. There are two locations of Stephanie’s, the popular Newbury Street eatery, in Terminals B and E. Wahlburgers (Terminals C and E) and Sal’s Pizza (Terminal E) are two other local staples that are ideal for fueling up on the go. At Kelly’s Roast Beef in Terminal B near Gate B15, guests can grab a drink at the bar and walk over to the seating area and relax before their flight. And with an upcoming location of Roger Berkowitz’s Roger’s Fish Co. in Terminal A, you can slurp your piping-hot chowder without setting foot outside in the brutal winter cold.

Something for everyone

Groups traveling together don’t have to agree on one stop, either. Inspired by its main location in Downtown Boston, Boston Public Market in Terminal C is a high-end food hall. There, travelers will find everything from healthy smoothies at Mother Juice and overstuffed sandwiches at Beantown Pastrami Co. to a selection of beers, wines, and local spirits at The Market Bar. Travelers can then converge together in a comfortable seating area with the authentic ambiance of the Market’s original downtown location.

Healthy grab-and-go options are also plentiful at Boston Logan. Berkshire Farms Market in Terminals A and B offers fresh sandwiches and salads made on-site every morning. At Gachi Sushi & Noodles in Terminal C, a minority and woman-owned business, pre-made sushi is available on the go, while hand-rolled options can be made to order.

From coffee to cocktails

When it comes to caffeination, Boston Logan has every traveler squared away. If there’s a long line at one of your favorite coffee spots, you can guarantee there will be another one right around the corner. Dunkin, which has a whopping 13 locations in the airport, and Starbucks are the two most requested spots at Boston Logan, but there are plenty of additional options. George Howell Coffee in Terminal E serves up craftsmanship in every bean, while Peet’s Coffee holds center court in Terminal E. Don’t miss its flipside, where the elegant full bar at Peet’s at Night is a comfortable spot for a cocktail, and guests can watch TV as the hustle and bustle of the terminal flows around them.

Boston Logan’s food and beverage program is a constant evolution that’s developed based on the requests of today’s travelers.

“From expanded fresh and healthy options to local concepts and convenient grab-and-go options, we’re committed to creating a journey that meets travelers arriving and departing,” says Moriyama. “Our goal is simple: to provide the best possible experience, with choices that are thoughtful, high-quality, and reflective of the diverse tastes of our passengers.”
