Free college is opening doors at Massasoit Community College

“Having access to free college has been life-changing for me,” says Nahomie Morency, a criminal justice student at Massasoit Community College. “Because of this program, I have found support not only through my education but with my fellow students on the women’s volleyball team. I am able to further my education, and I found a community that cares for me as much as I care for them.” 

Students are getting assistance from MassEducate and MassReconnect, state programs for all Massachusetts residents who have not yet earned a bachelor’s degree, to attend community college for free.

“For nearly 60 years, Massasoit has provided our students with opportunities to help them on their educational journey,” says Massasoit Interim President Bill Mitchell. “With free college, we continue to do what we have always done: meet our students where they are and give them the tools to help them succeed.” 

Massasoit students can choose from more than 60 degree and certificate programs across arts, sciences, health care, and technology at locations in Brockton, Canton, and Middleborough, Mass., and online. These diverse options make it easy to start a career or transfer to a four-year school.
