A new way for small businesses to pick a health plan

Through the Health Connector for Business, small companies in Massachusetts with fewer than 50 employees have an easy to use platform that offers health insurance options from the seven commercial carriers and provides helpful tools to make the choice easier for small business owners.

Many businesses that consider offering health insurance to employees need help making a selection—and that’s where the knowledge and experience of an insurance broker can help a business owner set up the right coverage for their company.

By leveraging the Health Connector for Business, a small business can either select one plan for all their employees, or allow their employees to choose the best plan for them. To help make those choices, the Health Connector for Business has nearly 200 certified brokers available to help at any point in the process.

The Health Connector for Business gives brokers the ability to:

• Use the broker quoting tool to gather prices for their employees
• Upload and manage their client’s employee roster
• Help point a small-business owner toward the best coverage for their company
• Ensure employees are completing the enrollment process to start coverage

The new Health Connector for Business platform was launched in November 2017, and brokers who are using the platform already find it beneficial to their business and their clients.
