A top-producing agent at Unlimited Sotheby’s International Realty, Melony Swasey is the founder and lead advisor of the Good Boston Living Team. Since 2010, she’s worked closely with home buyers and sellers throughout Boston and the surrounding area — including Brookline, Newton, Cambridge, and Somerville.
“For me, it’s never been about property,” Swasey says. “It’s about building relationships through advising clients, helping them think, and making strategic decisions that bring joy.”
Her guidance is nuanced; there’s no plug-and-play plan. “Clients appreciate that I listen attentively,” she says. “I help them clarify their priorities and understand who they are in relation to their competition in the market as a buyer or seller.”
This often means shifting assumed priorities, identifying the means they can leverage, and assessing their tolerance for risk. “These inputs pay off, as we get crystal-focused on what to look for and how to respond decisively — or for seller clients, how to best distinguish a property to attract the largest pool of eager, capable buyers,” Swasey says.
Clients appreciate feeling prepared in a market that changes quickly, and this dedication to relationship-building has helped grow the Good Boston Living Team through repeat business and a strong referral network.
After receiving her degree in urban and regional studies from Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art and Planning, Swasey settled in Boston’s Jamaica Plain in 2004. A first-generation American whose family hails from Jamaica, she is queer, vegan, and a 20-year yoga practitioner. Swasey chairs the board of trustees of The Eliot School of Fine and Applied Arts and serves on the board of Black History in Action for Cambridgeport.
